Hens or roosters and maybe some help with ages

She's an Easter Egger though.

The troubling BR is a rooster.

18 weeks is not late to begin crowing -- some don't crow until around 30 weeks.

But he's a boy for certain -- hackles don't lie. The rest look girlie to me.

interesting, I raised 9 roos last year and 3 this year, all crowed before 15 weeks...keep us posted, I am sure he is a he...the rest do look like girls....

Actually the coloring isn't roo. The color follows BOTH duckwing and wheaten rulings for female. There's very likely some Columbian in there too.

Ok here are three more of the same rooster /hen in question.
When making an educational guess, what is it your looking at to make your determination?
The hen in post #2 far left looks pretty close to mine and she says they are all hens in the photo.
The tailfeathers on that one are also looks close to mine.

The hackle feathers on my brown americuana/EE are pointed and everyone says that its a hen.I really thought it was a hen but the hackle feathers through me.The butt really looked like a hen.
So what am I missing when looking at my birds?

And and no crowing yet?? I thought they were somewhere in the 20 to 23 week age accept the Americuana/EE which my guess was around 19 weeks.
Sorry for all the question but this is my first time raising chickens.
If it starts to crow they lady that sold them to me will get a call. Or I'm making soup..LOL
My neighbors think I'm crazy raising chicken(my wife too) and I promised no roosters.

I see a pullet though...no saddle and hackle feathers in these new pics, just not sure of breed...barring doesn't look correct for a BR.

My roos all crowed very early, way before 20 weeks...WAY before...keep us posted on what happens, you should be getting eggs soon if we are predicting correctly.

I'm saying rooster because of the shiny, thin hackle feathers on the neck. Also, his tail feathers are beginning to curve.
