Hens or Roosters...how to tell

Every single one of those birds is a mixed breed rooster, sorry. I just hate it when folks get taken advantage of

They do taste great, my favorite method is the pressure cooker, personally.


If/when you do decide to get more birds, feel free to get a photo from the seller and post it here before you buy them. We can give you some peace of mind on future purchases.

I'd also contact the seller. If they were sold to you as pullets, she should make it right. If nothing else you can flag her or give her bad reviews on CL.
 
I'm not sure if they are crowing...I've been thinking of getting up early and going out to the coop to see how many are crowing. At what age do they generally start?

I did contact the seller and she informed me that she bought them all from a hatchery and if she had known they were roosters she wouldn't have sold them as hens. While I'd like to believe her because she was really very nice and helpful when I bought them, I find it very funny that out of all the ones she bought from the hatchery all 10 that I bought ended up as roosters.
