We caught her and painted povodine/Betadine on her bare skin two days in a row. Not sure but I think I see some new feather shafts appearing. Taking my goat to a vet this morning recommended by my chicken friends and will hopefully get a suggestion from him on what can cause this.

Taking my goat to a vet this morning recommended by my chicken friends and will hopefully get a suggestion from him on what can cause this.

He had no idea what might cause it if picking isn't the culprit and the skin isn't irritated. Said hopefully the povidone will work! If it doesn't I will try a yeast cream instead of a spray, and then give up.

problem solved! She got out of the pen with her protector dog and couldn't get herself back in one night, so her feather pile was a tad smaller than it should have been...never did figure out what it was. Tried antifungal, pesticide, and antimicrobial agents many times with treatments spread out to observe any changes, nothing made any difference
