A bunch of our birds are named as food. We have (chicken) "Dinner", (chicken) "Nugget".....etc....I liked the name Marsalla..lol

Our black stars are Nick, Nack, Paddy and Wack, named by my best friend!

Good luck, they are cuties!!

I have 6 Adult Barred Rock hens, My favorite too--Love them! They are hardy, great e g g layers and friendly. I have one that follows me every where and wants to be every where I am and her name is bella. The names I love are kinda fun cutesy names like bella, sophie, abby, maggie, katie...stuff like that. I have 2 brown leghorn babies myself, about 4 weeks old and I'm a little nervous about them, seem real skittish and I hear they are flighty too. I haven't named any of my babies yet!*sigh*I have a barred rock/orp mix and her name is sawdust--thanks to my 9 yr old son!

i think i have decided on names.... BUT i am still waiting on my brother and his names.....

All of my girls get "grandmotherly" names, which I'm sure means different things to different people. My chickens remind me of little old ladies the way they run around and fuss and chatter. And of course I loved my grandmothers and I love my chickens.

I also like any unusual girl names.

here are some names that are grandmotherly to me:

Florence
Gladys
Beatrice
Doris
Manuela
Edna

nice unusual girl names

Gwennivere
Simone
Miriam
Phyllis

Maybe these will give you some ideas!

How about names for color: ebony, scarlet, sugar, butter, ginger etc...

I probably spelled it wrong. Viola as in "vwah-la!" like "tah-dah!"
