here i go again...worry worry!!

Ok....just off to bed! Incubator check....chicks beak is still sticking out of the shell but no more progress. Im hoping she will have gained enough energy to be out by morning! No more chicks pipped so far....

Shes fine :D I had to help her last night, she seemed quiet and as I peeled a tiny bit of shell away I could see that it was dry. I helped her enough for her to do the last part herself, the yolk was absorbed and there was no blood, but I little poo in the bottom of her shell so I think she was ready. Shes doing fine now...all fluffy. Thanks for all your advice....theres two more pipping now!

Ok even more progress! The reason she couldnt get out was because she was shrink wrapped! There is a hole in my incubator and that is why my humidity is crap! Got in touch with the company and want a full refund! Just hope my other babies make it! There is currently two more chicks pipping but drying out so im having to keep a real close eye on them!

Congrats on the hatch! I'm glad to hear you found what caused the humidity problem. A hole in your incubator?

Thanks sumi! Yes it was only this morning I thought right I cant keep openibg the incubator 3x a day in lockdown to top it up so I added more water, and it was then I saw it seeping through the polystyrene underneath! I have called the suppiler and they refused a refund but offeref a replacement because I had used yhe damaged one! How am I supposed to no it works without using it?!? I have just bought a brinsea mini advance just incase....setting that up now...and breathe!

I don't know... But at least they are replacing it for you. Brinsea makes good incubators. I set my eggs and check the humidity now and then and top it up every other day until lockdown. Apart from that I can almost forget about it.

Its the plastic inside that seems to have cracked, I think im just going to move them into the brinsea mini once its been set up for a few hours....at lwast ill be able to see them! The damaged incubator has a teeny peep hole which isnt much good in this situation. What a stressful first time ay lol

I love my brinsea mini! Temp goes up fast and stays stable. Humidity recovers well too...FYI here I needed a bit higher humidity last month when it was so dry, so I added a piece if wet sponge...worked wonders! But since spring arrived humity has been easy with it and haven't needed the sponge.
