Here some pictures taken from one of my Pavo muticus imperator females in different positions

You are just making it worse Leo7 loose the translator it is getting you into verbal trouble here.

Leo7 would like to say, that a relaxed green peafowl female is normally not showing the long legs.
This are only ladies doing which are waiting beside the street for customers.

Reinhold, thank you for this clarification

I thought perhaps it was something like that.... but this helps very much. We have "sidewalk swallows" here too, but do not have such politely picturesque terms for those particular birds where I live

Do either of you perhaps have a photograph or two that would show us the difference between the way that a male green peafowl stands and a female green peafowl stands?

Do I correctly understand that the male will display his long legs, but the female will stand in such a way that her long legs are more hidden? I am trying to visualize the difference.

Besides, it is always pleasant to have a chance to see photos of these magnificent birds

Both Leo7 & Pfauenfreund have good photos showing males and females:

The Imperator peahens they have are very tall to begin with. You can really see a good height difference here in Pfauenfreund's Malaysian Green peafowl:
The peahen is here - http://www.pfauenfarm.de/Home-Engli...uticus-E/Album-PMM-M-E16/album-pmm-m-e16.html

Basically the male green peafowl will hold his neck up high, and his chest feathers are held close to his body which also help show his long legs. I think green peacocks are also known to carry their trains higher off of the ground than India Blue peafowl. When you see them in person, you will really notice how the male carries himself very tall compared to the hen. The hen will stand tall to look over a divider, etc, but usually she stays lower. A defining difference between regular American Greens and the greens that are from Wolfgang is that the Wolfgang green peacocks carry themselves this way. I think of it as them being very proud. The American green peafowl don't stand so tall - from what I saw at least.

Dany 12 here some pics of the back it is the same female
A picture from a single feather back side I don't have
As Info the female is born at 28.04.2012

Ok I have shown the pics as info.
It is fantastic how colorful the wings colour from a female is.
I have taken the pics from different positions under difference sunlight within 2 weeks.
I think never before a breeder shown such pictures. The hen is perfectly adapted to each year season to the nature.
To the legs.
The females has a little shorter legs as the males. 10 month every years they have to do care his offspring in the jungles riverbanks or savannas. They cannot run as a lighthouse. The most of the time in their life they goes slightly crouch.

Thank you for sharing these photos and for your additional explanation about the hen's legs. It was very kind of you to explain.
