Day 22: What do I do?

Still no pips on the 4 still in the incubator. 1 was always a maybe but 3 of those had babies for sure at Day 7 candling and at Day 18 the were aircell and all dark like it was a chick. Really hard to tell with dark eggs.

Do I candle? Do I just wait? Do I put a small hole in the top of the aircell on one to see inside? Humidity has stayed between 60-65%, temp good.
I was so sure 2 or 3 more would hatch!

This is making me excited! I just took my GCM's off the turner this morning. Your babies are so cute. Thanks for the the pics. I think I will know now how many roos & pullets I get.

ETA: on the ones that haven't pipped, you may be able to tell by candling if they are still alive, but probably not. It's hard to know what to do, but I think a small hole in the eggs wouldn't hurt. If they are still kicking, they will peep when you mess with the egg. Good luck!

I got them from a BYC member, nivtup. I have 11 chicks out of 15 eggs. Can't wait to see how many hatch!​

Ok, 6 is all I am going to get from this batch.
I candled. Then I took them out and put the incubator in the dishwasher. The 4 that were left were not going to hatch. No babies in there.

Thanks for coming with me on my journey of hatching out the Golden Cuckoo Marans. I have 4 little girls that I will get to keep and the little boys I will have to find homes for. Let me know if you want a beautiful GCM cockerel.

Same for me - I candled last night and nothing doing in my last eggs either. I am happy with my 4 healthy chicks - I think 3 girls and 1 boy. Good for my first go!!
