I have one that sounds the same. I hatched its self though with no problems though. After talking with people I thought it might be a slipped tendon but now I think it is in the hip. Does yours rock back with the foot up? Also I am seeing the foot looks a bit swollen but the toes work fine. I can see that using the fix for splayed legs will work as it holds the leg up and out, not just out. Other than manipulating to check the tendon and see if I could find the problem I havent done anything. I was hoping it would improve but it is looking worse ;(

I would put the Bandaid hobble on him now. After the first couple of days the hip starts to set and there will be no fixing it (if it can be fixed) later.

thank you cinders , doing just fine now running around the brooder eating and drinking with 2 more YES 2 more hatches yesterday , BUT my poorly blue silkie passed away last night i am so surprised that it lasted that long bless it . i have 4 more eggs but i dont hold out much hope now as they are 2 and a half days late now but i had one hatch only hours ago so

. i must be mad but ive set my other batch 3 lavender silkie eggs , 12 mixed silkies and 6 sultans so doing it all again in 20 days

lol sorry guys was taking my son back to the army 5 hour round trip then i come home with a migraine gave my poorly chick some water and nutri drop , had some tea , checked on blue (poorly chick) again and he she had passed away i was so upset , i thought it was going to make it as its been ill for 3 days and still holding on

so i just went to bed . but came home to find one more chick had hatched and another one when i woke this morning

so ive had 5 out of 20 up till now . there is 4 still in the incubator but 2+ days over so dont hold out much more hope for anymore

, on the plus side set 21 more hatch in 20 days , i must be mad its so emotional

LOL. I have 2 of these also. Once I bought the scientific thermometers I started using those exclusively. I find them to be more reliable and no mechanical issues to deal with.
