Today is day 21, loud chirping since this morning but no pip yet! Pip please!!!!

This is where your patience will wear very thin. It can take 24 + hours from pip to zip. With mine is was about 12 hours from pip to zip,others only a few.

Already nearly 12 hours very little progress. Still chirping but just a small pip. Shall I wait 24 hours till I help?

I've actually waited longer than that. I go by the chicks chirping if it sounds like it is starting to get distressed then I intervene. It is a tough call to make. Not everyone believes that we should help them out. I have helped 2 out- 1 lived the other died a few hours later.

Tomorrow is Day 17 of my first ever hatch... I know lock down is Day 18, but is it beginning of the day, or end of day? Do I turn the eggs that day, or no? Thanks!

I think lockdown for most is the start of day 19 but everyone locks down bit different from each other

I THINK 3 GIRLS 1 BOY ??? (boy is a little older than other 3 so not to sure ) thank you brookhaven very interesting and helpful xx ,
forgot to say last egg that was churping and knocking on its shell didnt hatch , candled and water test was 4 days late and was srink wraped

was nice chick but didnt make it ! 19 days and counting

i would remember the time of day you started the eggs so if its at 7pm then on the 18th day at 7pm is lock down , thats how i understand it and day 21 starts again at 7pm if you understand that ??

thats cool , i think i have 3 and not sure on the other one kel ?? , im off for a bit got hospital appointment (been off sick , work on a hospital ward , for weeks had an ear op and its still not right ) been like it for bloody 6 months , lol thats why i have so much time to be on here lol dont ever want to go back to work now i hatch chicks
