I bet he felt awful when it happened. It is a lesson learned the hard way. If you think your nerves were shot in the beginning wait until lockdown...LOL. Your nose will be pressed to the glass constantly.
I would be mad too.i have mailed the ebay seller as they were quite a lot of money and i only had 3 , so i will see what they say brook haven , i am so mad![]()
just candled my lavender silkie eggs only have 3 and non are fertilethey on day 9 in incubator![]()
Congrats!! I am only at day 18 and I was up three times last night to check for any early pips, lol. Not much sleep happening from here on out...Beginning of Day 20 and just had 1 of my Silkies hatch!!! It was the one that I saw the internal pip in yesterday when I candled before lockdown. I looked in on them around 6:30 this morning and there was nothing. About 20 minutes ago I heard chirping so I went and looked and there she is all hatched.
So true. I swore I was not going to do shipped eggs again but I broke down and ordered 12+ RIR. They should be here tomorrow. I am going to give shipped eggs one more shot. I have only done one hatch of shipped eggs and ended up with 1/15. If this batch does not work then I am truly done and will do local only from now on. Even if I have to drive a few hours to get them.I'm not sure that non development means they are not fertile. Could be any number of things esp if they were shipped. After my recent experience with shipped eggs I would never order less than 12 or so if possible because you have to expect to lose so many.
