I think you nailed it on the feather footed one. Some of the pictures look just like my chick!!! YeeHaw, I like the look of those chickens. I guess with silkies I am partial to feathers on their feet. Thanks.

I read all the post after your initial and I am so happy that the breeder acknowledged what might have happened and is refunding your money. I think I would purchase from her again. Good luck on your mixed bag of chicks. I can't even imagine getting a turkey and raising it. It will be exciting to say the least when you get them.
I hatched 5 turkeys a few years ago. They were so much fun but pretty messy :) They would ride around on my wheelbarrow.

That's crazy!

I didn't know how much poo chickens create and how large some of it can be and I have Silkies. They free range so my backyard will become so green and fertile. I organically grow my veggies so it's all good and I feed them organic feed.

So is this third one as yellow as it appears in the picture or was that the lighting? And why do you think it came out with a peach colored beak and skin? The paints you breaded had black skin and beak right? Is this just something that has come down from the parents lineage? I'm just trying to learn so I know I'm asking a lot of questions, sorry.

I think they are all so cute. I want a splash that has a lot of white with the blackish/blue streaks. What do you think the second one will look like as an adult?

Yes it is that yellow... The paints have some problems with pigmentation. I dont really know why... I am just getting into that color. They often have pigment holes on the feet and skin. I was lucky to get the paint with the dark pigment :) I have a cute splash right now. Her name is Drucilla :) The second chick picture will just be black as an adult. This is Drucilla, her coloring is a lot more vivid than the picture. She is almost 4 months old.

She really is pretty. I have a question..... For those of you that have hatched Catdance Silkies what was your hatch rate with the shipped eggs? I am really considering getting some of her eggs but am concerned with the travel distance - Washington State to Florida. Even if I only got a few out of the hatch I would be pleased. I just love her birds.

From what I have heard it is almost impossible to sex silkies. They say that the only way to tell is when they start crowing or laying eggs.
the only reason i ask is he / she has grown waffles and my female silkie who is now 20 weeks hasnt got any but my 20 week old cock has and he is crowing , so can silkies have waffles and a bit bigger combs ?

Best picture would be full face from the front with the crest pulled back. But, I'm guessing boy from what I can see of the comb. Just guessing here but you should know if that comb starts to pop out more. My cockerel just started to crow and he's 5 months old but I've know by his comb he was a boy for 6 weeks now.
ya i have a cock and a hen that are 20 weeks and im going by them really ,the hen hasnt got any waffles so im sure 'meg' is a boy

he / she was my first hatch and i only got that one and a polish cock so looks like i hatched 2 cocks out my first batch
