Candled my 100 eggs last night and this morning on day 14. Threw out 15 clears are stopped developing. Down to 85 now. Lockdown Thursday the 13th and hatch the 16th. This is going to be another staggered hatch. They are all developing at different stages. This happened with my last hatch. Took 5 days to hatch all the eggs. Any ideas why this happens?

Hello! I started two dozen eggs (shipped) at about 10PM on the 29th. FIngers crossed!

This is from my last incubated batch. 9 out of 12 of my own eggs.




Prior to that I only got 1 chick from a dozen eggs (shipped).

Got no idea but that happens to me in each hatch. I was sure it was different temps inside the battor so I switched eggs next time and guess what??? The eggs from my hens hatched earlier again... One of my hens lays a egg that hatch at day 19 and is very active inside the egg....Is like a washing machine inside and ALWAYS hatch at day 19. So eggs from my hens usually hatch at day 20 and from shipped eggs day 21 to 22...

This hatch is going slowly for me.Last few flew by... Im not too optimistic tis time. Maybe i should be more so but had a couple glitches and found one really bad egg 2 days ago day 7 and 3 are weepers. Moved them to the other bator so they dont pass it to other eggs if thats possible, Dont know what weeping is from... bacteria???? or just large pours...
Got 18 from the breeder for auction of 12...maybe really good but maybe a low hatch rate on his eggs so they added more...hate to be negative though as it was kind to give me so many either way.
Today day 9.

Funny how after you do a few you are not constantly checking to see "something" is happening even though there is nothing to see. This time around I check the temp and humidity, turn the eggs and I am done in less than a minute. The weepers I would ditch. I don't think you can save them.

Welcome to the group!! The same happened to me. I bought a dozen eggs locally for my first hatch and 9/15 hatched. The next round I bought 12 shipped eggs and only 1/15 hatched. I really think shipped eggs suffer.

This is my 8th hatch ALL shipped!
My % of hatch on shipped has been about 25% no matter if its in my Hovabator or my Genesis so its for sure the shipping...however Guess i complained so much the hatch gods finally gave me an 80 % hatch last one lol.

I candled mine last night when I set 16 eggs, and the 6 I set a week ago have something in there. Everything is humming along at 100 degrees, 30-35% humidity. I'll have a staggered hatch with one set hatching on the 21st or thereabouts, the second on the 28th, and more eggs should arrive later this week. Oh, and we were given three duck eggs to try to hatch. Hm. I need to go read up on hatching duck eggs. If they require something drastically different, I'm going to have to make or buy a quick bator, which just might make my DHs head explode.
