Ok, started with 44 eggs (shipped) that I set on 9/7...and now down to 25 after culling those that had no development whatsoever, and two blood rings...someone please tell me I should still be feeling optimistic for this hatch, trying not to feel too bummed about how dismal the #'s look...

Hey everyone. I just locked down today. Of my eight eggs, I've only got 1 that may hatch and 1 that looks like it quit about day 11-12. I'm really mad. I was looking forward to these eggs [gold laced orps and chocolate standard orps]
We shall see if the one that looks living actually hatches, but I'm not feeling very optimistic.
Kind of bummed that I've had such crap luck using the brinsea. I was having better hatches in the little giant :/
I won't stay sad for long though....I've got 12+ English orps in the mail, should be here tomorrow....they were coming from MD to NC, so hopefully the shorter journey will result in a better hatch rate.
Good luck to everyone else who is gearing up to lock down!
Although lots of rain, stress and VERY little sleep (another short cat nap)..................
I am proud to announonce currently I have 4 blk Austras hatched out.![]()
The one that pipped so early was #3 @ 1:30 this afternoon. When the first two hatched so quickly and I could see this first one trying so hard I was really getting concerned but ALAS it made it out and was noticably larger than the first two.
So, twelve more to go and currently I think there are 8 I see a little pip. Can't wait to see the tiny bantam cochins.
Maybe pics later tonight.
today is day 21 one and its still just shaking no pip or nothing yet????
i have an americaunas egg pip right now and the other one shaking
