Here's a fun one - guess this chicken from 1923?

this is my grandfather holding his prized rooster. My father is the little boy to the right of the chicken. My father was born in 1921 so I'm thinking this was taken in 1922 or 1923. I love the look on his face. Apparently my father was not a fan of this chicken.

ETA. Looks white in the picture but with a dark underbody. It was probably some kind of hybrid. This is SC in 1923 so I don't expect they had or could afford fancy breeds.

Might be a White Plymouth Rock.

I'm guessing White Leghorn.

I think the dark underneath is a hand holding the bird in shadow, the bird's probably white. From the smallish size I'd guess Leghorn, plus they've been around forever so would have been readily available at the time.
