Agreed its getting a little out of control, and is pointless to argue.

Wow, I had no idea my little question could be so controversial. I just wondered if I had a breed that was heritage in LF...if it could still be considered heritage in Bantam form. I guess it really doesn't matter. As long as the chickies and I are happy...no one is going to give us an award for having "heritage" or "non-heritage" or mutts...

i will agree with the Sebright and Sultan, I do not believe the cornish jap or rosecomb will fit either.

Why the Sebrights & Sultans but not the Rosecombs or Japanese Bantams? All were in the first Standard.
The whole "Heritage" concept is spinning out of control. Until a definition is established, that all accept, pointless arguements like this will continue.

That is why I qualified the statement with " i don't believe" as I didn't feel like looking it up to satisfy someones elses curiosity who, if to be perfectly honest, could look up the answer themselves.

I love bantams and have raised any number of different varieties thru the years BUT when I think of "Heritage Breeds", I dont really think of bantams at all. Bantams have always been more ornamental in their purpose, which to me does not configure to the definition I interpret of Heritage Breeds which were most likely singular or dual purpose breeds developed in the time of the Industrial Revolution. Might not be anyone elses opinion of that but just my own perception....
