That's what I get for trying to post while in between customers at work. My local climate we don't get truly hot weather until late August generally, when Jan/Feb hatch birds are mostly mature so their growth wouldn't be slowed.

If you live somewhere that instead that starts getting high 80's and 90's or worse early in the year (south west, Texas, etc) it's a lot less ideal. Because now those birds are still in their prime growing ages when the heat hits, halts their appetites and therefore growth.

Good point and I thoroughly agree with you. I live outside Shreveport, La. and it is HOT from later May thru Sept. Plan on buying mine early.

THe kids are excited to go-- they got a taste of the BOston POultry show for a few minutes and were completely entralled ( and DH too) with the . . . . .ducks. lol I don't show poulttry-- did enough with horses and dogs--- I love looking at the birds and appreciating the hard work and the beauty. Each is like a work of art.

LOL or too always, ALWAYS! make for sure you put on your jock strap before you rub down an wrap the ol bum knee or tennis elbow with Icy Hott or equivalent ....trust me and I haven't had a gym class in 30 years(learning+experience=memories)LOL

Indeed I am - It's intresting though most of these opportunity's are more or less self-made because a few think I am very intelligent for my age... I have just made my self a small network of very intelligent professionals. I am so humbled that I have meant a person that believes in me and what I know so much she is flying me across the country so I can work with her, help her plan her world-first poultry facility (and yes we know it will be a world first). It's incredibly humbling to meat someone like that. It's more amazing because of my age. It's really really funny I had hesitations about university and collages. She is encouraging me to go - not just to learn but for the network of people I will make.
