Heritage SQ Egg Chain Swap Thread

Question ---

I have LF exhibition quality Black Orpington hens, but they're in with Lavender Project Orpington roosters & 2 lav hens. Can I use them here? I know who lays which egg, so I can separate them so all the chicks will be black splits.

I've been waiting to use them on the SQ swap, but I haven't seen anything that sparks my interest that I'm fast enough to get!

I have offered Buff Chantecler Improvement Project eggs, but offered a Heritage breed as well. The Self Blue Orpington WILL be in the Standard one day soon, but not yet. i would say offer a Heritage variety and teh Lav project and let the group decide if they want them.

Show Quailty defined would be a current APA/ABA recognised variety or pending variety. Marans are not in the SOP but are pending the APA Semi-Annual's acceptance. The Self Blue Orpington has not been presented for a qualifying meet yet. I do know of several that would fight over your eggs. But we do need to stay fairly close to the "rules". Though, come to think of it....I stole the rules from the SQ Swap thread...who stole them from.... guess some rules can be bent a little.

Why not offer Black Orpingtons and/or Lavender Project eggs and allow the winner to decide.

I unfortunately only get enough Red Dorking eggs right now to trade for other Dorkings. That'll improve as soon as this year's grow out, unless I can find some adult stock at the WNY show in Hamburg next month.

Thanks -- I'll be waiting & watching to post my Orps.

I'll be breeding Red Dorkings from 3 separate lines eventually. I'll let you & the whole Dorking Club know what I get at the show!

Mine. I'll take the dorkings and offer 6 b/b/s orps or 6 silver appleyard duck eggs. The duck eggs would ship next monday unless you want them mailed over the weekend.

I would consider trading off thread 4 Black Heritage Turkeys eggs for some Black Wyandotte Bantam eggs.

Then you can raise your own Turkey that would look like this at Thanksgiving: http://www.reeseturkeys.net/main.sc

Or just order a turkey from Frank Reese.

I dont have anywhere to keep turkeys.

My ducks are from Holderread's waterfowl.

My orps are from many places, including American and English lines. They include missprissy, tuffoldhen, taterschickens (imogene, who got her stock from Julie) and others.

Nobody?

Check out the link. The turkeys that Frank is selling at the link can and should be kept in your freezer camp!
