I also am a fan of Irfanview. I resize all of my pictures to 800x600 with it (it's easy, all you do is open the photo, Select Image/Resize/Resample, and tick a button on the right-hand side, then select File/Save As and rename the photo - this is an important set, if you don't do this you'll overwrite the original photo and lose the full-size file).

I forgot to ask, does irfanview allow you to copy the image url for message boards?

Irfanview is just an image program, I don't know what you mean by 'allow you to copy the image url for message boards'. You still, after resizing your photo, have to upload it to a hosting site like Imageshack or the like. I host my own photos on my own space.

On the phototbucket site, right above the browse button (for uploading) in small print is a "max size" button you can hit and adjust the max size.

I just did this and reset to message board size.

For all you folks having problems, I just posted smaller pics on the "post your favorite chicken pics" thread. Did they come up easier?

I use this website for my pictures in addition to Photobucket. I've had no problems with it and I use this one exclusively for all my avatar pictures.

technology is just moving to fast for my purdy little head. as soon as i figure out how to do something that particular technology is obsolete and the kids have invented a whole new language anyway to keep me in the dark about what's happening "now."
really, i ought to be just be sittin' in the dark with my chickens and all electronic gadgets should just be taken away from me - i simply can't handle the responsibility!
