Got 16 birds from Rural King the weekend of Black Friday last year. I really wish I wrote down what birds we got. I know we have four buffs and two New Jersey Blacks. Then we got 2 pairs of various others, including silkies. Someone said that the ameraucanas might actually be easter eggers. So I figured as I can get, hopefully clear pictures, I'll post some up and see what we really got.

Sorry if some are not good for ID'ing. Every time I try and get close they run off.

One of my favorites as I love the look. I think this might be a male as he is much larger then his counter part.
This should be the same bird.

This one follows me around. She will walk up to you at the fence too. Stick your finger threw and you will get pecked at.

Hello and welcome to Backyard Chickens :frow:welcome
Gorgeous birds you have.

Welcome! Your first bird is definitely an easter egger cockerel now that I've seen a side photo. The buffs have feathered legs, which makes me wonder if they are some sort of brahmas maybe. Buff is just a color.

Thank you. I had a feeling it was a rooster or cockerel. I just hope I don't have too many.

Maybe this weekend I can get the wife and kids together and get some better pictures. I haven't done what I believe are buffs yet as there are the only ones we bought four of. And the New Jersery's stand out. Those things are getting big.

Oh, I see. Buff is a color that would match the description of those very golden birds you have posted. Buff isn't a breed, so you probably have buff colored ____, likely orpingtons, they are very common.

And actually, thinking about how old they are I'm not sure it's a boy after all. I would expect to see a redder comb. Those tail feathers could be tricking me.

Ah ok, I see where I am wrong. I believe the four are buff orpingtons. I did not realize Buff describes the color before the breed. I'm still learning.

I will say though, the one is notable larger then the other matching. I most likely should have waited until the weekend when I can get help getting proper pictures of all the birds.

From what I can tell in the pics you have shown...

#1 #2 are the same bird? Easter Egger pullet

#3 looks really small. maybe a bantam ?

#4 #5 #6 all buff colored. Agree that they're Buff Cochins because of the feathered legs. Buff Orpingtons have clean legs.

#7 also looks small, maybe a bantam easter egger. Are #3 and #7 the same? Actually, this one might be a Welsummer.

I couldn't figure out what you meant by New Jersey Blacks. Then I realized everyone calls them Jersey Giants.

Thank you. Is that the same breed as the first two pictures I posted? I really like the coloring on them.

Pictures #1 and #2: Easter Egger
#3 and #4 : Red Cochin, perhaps? Pretty light. Or is this the same bird in pictures #5 and #6?
#5 and #6: Buff Cochin
#7: Black Breasted Red Phoenix? Is this little cutie bantam or standard?

All are pullets. The EE sports female specific coloration. :)
