I have a Brower top-hatch that they'll incubate in (if they'll call fit), and I want to use the LG to hatch them. But I may have to incubate in both for a while. I have a real hard time getting the humidity up in the Brower. I'm hoping it'll be easier in the LG. We'll see.
I didn't have real good hatch rates last time, either, but it was my first time. Also, my thermometers were off by 2-3 degrees. That may not matter for the yard, but it makes a big difference in the bator! Both were off by the same amount, so I thought I was OK

With 27 eggs you're bound to get lots of babies. Were the eggs last time all shipped? That may've made a difference, too.

Well some of them were shipped, but not all of them. I have gotten 95% hatches with the Hovabator. So I don't know what the deal was last time.

I know it's early (day 4) but I candled just to see what's going on.

I'm really depressed

I only have good veins in one egg. Just one! The others look to be yolkers. I'll give them more time, of course, but to see one soooo perfect makes the others look sad.

I'll give them more time, but I don't have high hopes. Am I going to end up with a lone SSH AGAIN? Seems totally possible. But I won't give up on them yet.

I forgot to mention last night that a 2nd egg has a hairline crack, too.
I think the PO was really rough with these eggs, even though the box looked fine.
I've resigned myself to not having SSH's in my little flock. They are sooo pretty, but....

I am so sorry. Well maybe you will get a boy/girl this time to go with the boy/girl you already have and then you can start your own. ( hi it sounded good)

I hope I get mine too. The po is so "ruff" with things. Even if the box does say fragile

I have got a few nibbles on my other thread, I really need a bite though!!

Yes, they are rough. And the PO people always seem to be in a bad mood too.
They called this morning (1st time ever) to tell my swap eggs had arrived. They called at 6am! I got there by 6:15 and was thanked for coming so promptly. I came thisclose to saying, "Ya'll have never bothered to call before, so I had to come promptly!" But I didn't.

I am alway's playing with the dogs or the pig or something.

That is how my po is. My mail lady is super b***** she will pull up in my drive and honk the hurn and If I don't come out there she will pull off

without delivering my package.....
