Smitty's Farm :
ooooh, What did you get in that package? Did you fire up the Brower?
I don't trust my themometer/ hygrometer combos either. I usually have 2 in there and they give me 2 diff readings, so I'm always wondering which is correct. I call my flukers a flunkers. LOL!!!!
Do what champion says and slab a little wax on the cracked egg.
So........Ding. Ding.........Round#2 begins!!!!!!
I got really aggravated last night because the therm I was using originally was way off what the new one says. If the new one is right, then I was way overheated on the last hatch! Like I had spikes of 102-104 rather than 101-102 like I thought. No wonder I lost so many babes.
But can I trust the new thermometer?
Before I left this morning I had struck a balance between the 2, and should be 99.5 for the day with 42% humidity. I'm letting the humidity drop to around 30% before I add more water. And since the bator is mostly empty I've been hand-turning them. That's let me get rid of some excess heat...
