Many of you will remember me as "Ma" from Iowa. We were the ones who had to re-home our beloved flock and leave our farm in Iowa this late spring after the floods.
After a tough, tough road, three moves and also loosing my Mother, we are finally settled in our new home on Lake Superior way up in the northernwestern part of Wisconsin. Finally we have a home to call our own, and we love it. The best part.....the very best part.....we can have chickens again!!
We just ordered the coop, a pre-fab. We decided on the pre-fab because we are old and just worn out to tell the truth.
We won't get the chicks until spring, but everything will be in place. I simply can not wait to get my hands and arms around those beautiful Buff Orpies.
You know what I miss the most? The theraputical affect of owning a flock. I miss my girls terribly. When my Mom passed, all I could think about was how much it would help if I still had my girls to share my grief with.
But then the the prayers were answered and this wonderful home (permanent) became available. So indeed a door closes and a window opens...........amazing.
Sorry I'm so long! But I had to come back here as soon as we got settled and say howdy to my dear friends, whose support ment more to us than there are words. Thank you again..........I love you all, and it is so good to be back.
