My husband and I finally jumped into the art of raising chickens. We've been wanting to do this for a few years but we've been a bit nervous to start. Still a little worried about the winter, but I'm hoping by then we'll be more confident. We are starting off with just ten chicks. We got wyendottes because (besides being good egg layers and cold weather hardy) they are good with kids. We have 4 girls and another on the way. They are really excited and of course think the chicks are just adorable. Well, so do I :).

Welcome to BYC!

Drumstick Diva X2...they grow fast! So make sure you have new digs for them soon and a screen on the top to keep them in.

Enjoy your new babies and welcome to our flock!

Yup, we put chicken wire over the container right after this picture was taken. And we have a coop to transfer them into as soon as it appears necessary. :). Thanks
