Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Well, tonight we had BBQ Chicken Wings, Sucotash, Sweet Peas, Smiley Potatoes & Rolls.

For those that don't know what Sucotash is.....it is a mixture of Tomatoes, Okra and Corn with salt, sugar, dehydrated onions and garlic with spice. YUMMY

My chicken came out great, fall off the bone. Went out to the garden and picked all my bell peppers, added some to the chickens along with some white onion. Served over rice. Next time I'll add a can of tomato paste to make it richer, bay leaf and salt and pepper. But other than that it was good.

Anyone have any ideas for a flank steak in the crock pot?

Acre: I know what succotash is, but what are smiley potatoes?

Dragonfly:
I'd make ropa vieja - put your flank steak in the crockpot with a can of tomatoes & their juice, bell peppers, onions and some cumin, oregano & garlic
Serve in tortillas with sour cream and fresh cilantro*

*if you aren't a cilantro-lover substitute fresh parsley

2DogsFarm thanks for the recipe on Flank steak will try that.

Made this soup last night and it was divine! Anyone who likes Thia food should try this and it was easy to make.

so will have to make him something special. I make something we call "Steak Sliced Thin". Beef tenderloin sliced as thin as you can get it (I do this when beef is part way thawed) a head of garlic minced saute in olive oil until tender not browned - flash fry the beef with salt & pepper (Iuse a fair amount of pepper) and some oregano. Serve HOT over egg noddles.
