Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Welcome DawnSuiter! I saw Uglies on the home page of Allrecipes today so I knew what you were making without having to follow the link.

Tonight we had seared opah with a tomato, garlic, wine, and caper reduction, with sides of quinoa and salad.

SO made the best teryaki chicken I ever had tonight. I sauteed a mixture of vegetables from the garden and we had steamed rice with it, as well as a tomato, pepper salad.
We had made so much of everything, that I was able to take some to DD's for her dinner

She was running errands all afternoon, so I'm sure it was a nice surprise for her. She wasn't home yet, when I dropped it off.

Have had booooring dinners the last three nights - chili, chili and chili. Been busy getting ready to go see my husband in the Napa Valley and teach a friend there how to do canning.

Also, excited since I will do my annual shopping trip to Berkeley and all my old haunts (no pun intended) and have a burrito at my all time favorite place "Gordo" burrito on Solono Ave in Albany. Then over to outlets stores - Create and Barrel for new dishes to show off my cooking creations - I truly believe that cooking has a lot to do with the presentation in setting the stage to enhance the flavors - we eat with our eyes first then our taste buds.

Everyone have a great weekend and Happy Halloween

Chili is our traditional Halloween dinner as well but this year I'm not sure yet. Since Halloween fell on a weekend this year, the kids have been invited to other events. It may just be hubby and I tonight.

I don't usually think about dinner until late afternoon... I'm an inspirational cook and go for whatever I'm in the mood for. Tonight is Mex-american beef & cheese tortillas lightly toasted with fajita flavored rice & refried beans & salad.

Thank GOODness I finally got my DH to eat some light Mexican flavors
