Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

How did the pizza turn out, thechickenchick? Sounds good!

I was fishing around in the freezer and found a package of top sirloin steaks that had some freezer burn so I defrosted, trimmed, and tried to find a way to use them up that put some moisture back into them since the BBQ was now out of the question. I decided to make a crockpot pepper steak. Turned out pretty good with the meat nice and tender. No one could tell that they had been freezer burned and I didn't waste a buncha really nice steaks.

I served it over rice along with a spinach salad with mandarin oranges.

Last night

Sweet & Spicy Bison Meatballs (equal parts grape jelly & heinz chili sauce)
Broccoli, Corn & Carrots lightly boiled & then buttered
Mixed Green Salads with red cabbage, shredded carrots, etc

Tonight

Pork Sausage Pesto/Spaghetti Sauce
Whole grain organic angel hair pasta (yes store bought for ease sometimes)
Steamed Broccoli w/garlic & pepper
Mixed Green Salads, etc...

Tomorrow

All Day pan roasted chicken with Golden Gravy
White Rice & Veggie Stir fry - frozen broccoli florets, carrots, corn, cauliflower, maybe some sprouts added at the end.
Mixed Green Salads, etc....

DragonFly... welcome to fresh pasta!!!

The pizza came out great! We were really pleased with it and will be doing it again soon. We just love artichokes so it was a treat.

Last night was mushroom/beef stew. I was sort of in the same position as you BYB. I had some deer steak with a little freezer burn on it. So I thawed, pounded it out then slow cooked it with onion, garlic and mushroom all day. Then added some potatoes and turned it into a rich thick stew. I served it in home made bread bowls. It rained all day yesterday so the warm cozy supper hit the spot!

Tonight is Tacos on TV trays in front of American Idol

Oh...American Idol...we've been following that too. I had a beer while they were on, DH had a drink. Then we locked up the chickens. After all that DH grilled steaks. We just finished a fabulous plate of food...

Ribeye Steaks (our beef)
Honey Glazed Carrots (from garden)
Broccoli (from garden) with fresh squeezed lemon
Baked Potatoes w/fixin's

I am soooOOOooo stuffed. LOL

Tonight's Idol should be exciting too. Not sure whats for supper yet though.

Was raining and cold in Northern California - so made a pot of Chili with Jalapeno Corn Bread that is the best recipe that I have ever found. You make it in a cast iron skillet in the oven and it is so moist and wonderful. You can also make it with out the Jalapenos but my husband really like HOT/SPICY food so I add them.

Now we are ready for spring so we can do outside grillin' too.
