Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

I'm making some one million six hundred seventy eight thousand, one hundred and forty two bean soup. It's always good with some Rotel and hot Italian sausage. I'm also going to make a few loaves of french bread.

Stand back, and watch your fingers!

I make that a lot, but I usually throw in 2 extra beans because Ken likes his soup a little thicker.

After returning from a ten day road trip (first time staying away from home since I got those silly chickens), and eating some fantastic food, I'm thrown back into "what the heck am I going to make for dinner" mode. It was so nice not to have to think about that for a while.

So since hubby is officiating a track meet all day today (and yesterday until 11:00 p.m.), I will make him his favorite (and my least favorite) -- meatloaf. Blech. But I will "me" it up by serving it with a nice warm brussel sprout salad with dried cranberries and walnuts. I think. I am having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. We shall see.

I made 2 quiche's last night. A spinach and capicola (sp?) with cheddar, and a chicken chipotle with mozzarella.
I had hoped they'd get us through dinner tonight. It doesn't look like it's going to happen, they're so good.
