Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Induction stove top has gone bat stuff crazy. Earliest we can get someone out to check on it is Friday afternoon. I picture cooking for Christmas with nothing but the oven.

Tonight I will attempt flounder fillets, sweet corn and mac and cheese in the oven. Should be fun.

Stove top 'self healed' at least for now.

Tonight I will make a pork loin Adobo with baked sweet potatoes and fried summer squash - both yellow and zucchini.

Pork here tonight. I pulled out country style ribs. usually I crockpot them, but there was not enough time. I covered with onion soup mix and foil, put in the oven for a few hours. Smells wonderful, hope they come out tender. Coleslaw and garlic bread to go with.

I made a prime rib. Yes I did, and it was amazing!!! I'm so proud of me! The crust was savory and salty and crunchy....the inside perfectly medium rare (with the end cuts a little more done for Ken, since that's the way he likes them). I also made baked potatoes and asparagus. The asparagus wasn't fantastic...more like adequate...but it's not in season and although I did kinda sorta peel the tough stuff off the stalks it didn't help much!

Happy New Year, my friends! And remember always, "Hunger is the best sauce!"

Tonight I made a steak with baked potato and sweet corn.

Tomorrow the Princess is making a prime rib roast.

I think I am in charge of the mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. Should be interesting. She hasn't cooked in 25 years.

We had prime rib for Christmas. It was wonderful---I'm the more "done" person here, so I get the nice ends.

We actually have snow here today. I'm thinking veggie beef stew for dinner, with garlic bread.
