Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

That's great, Sour!! We had ours reheated tonight with a little of the gravy.....um, it lost a little in the translation. <sigh>

Yep, did the same thing when reheated. Okay, butnowhere near as good as first time around. Added sweet corn to the mix and feasted on leftovers. Next time I think that I will turn the leftovers into a beef stew with a Bisquick crust. It's been a long time since I've made that.

That beef stew sounds so good! The snow has me in a comfort food mood--stew, casseroles, tamale pie--they all sound great!

tonight is a big ol pork butt roast in apple juice with sage and onion. I'm going to try frying some onion and apple to go with, never done that before. maybe cauliflower for a veggie.

No mashed potatoes ?

Tonight I made chicken parmesan (mozzarella actually) and served it with angel hair pasta.

Knock Knock. Can I peep in?

I'm making tacos for dinner. They're one of my favorite comfort foods & pretty much a staple when you live an hour away from the boarder. I better get on them, but couldn't resist a food thread.

Oh, I'd thought about mac and cheese, actually. We've been kind of tater heavy lately. Or I may skip the side altogether.

room onthebroom--welcome! I'm a taco lover also. Beef, chicken, fish, salad, whatever.

Thanks! I don't think you could ever be too tater or pasta heavy. I'm definitely a Carbivore.

I know, I didn't expect to say too many taters either. Weird.

but the mac and cheese came out good.

I used to be a decent enough cook, but the chemo brain has effected my ability to follow recipes. At times the family has requested I just use boxed/mixes, etc. I told The Locusts i wanted feedback on the mac and cheese cause it was a new recipe. Sugar Monkey was upset cause it wasn't the blue box....until he ate it. He's back for seconds. Managed to pull that one off, I guess.
