Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Homemade by the Amish.

I've never had Amish pickles, but I bet they're great. Of course, any pickle is a good pickle in my world.

I've been out cleaning the coop most of the day & am gonna have to call in for a pizza; pesto, tomato, mushroom, spinach, garlic & pepperoncini's ... I cant wait!

I was going to do chicken parm, but Honey got hungry and fixed chorizo and eggs, and the Locusts that are home devoured the pumpkin bread, so we're just chillin with a YOYO kind of thing tonight.

I may make a home made pizza tomorrow. I have a huge opened jar of marinara sauce I'll need to use.

Last night was Taco Salad. Always a good standby here.

Tonight--I've got some chicken thighs. I'm back and forth between a tomato sauce and something like a honey garlic sauce. Cauliflower and probably garlic bread, we've got French bread that needs to be used.

We went to the movies yesterday so we ate out. Tonight is half priced pasta, but tomorrow night I shall return to the kitchen.

Its THAT time again & as usual, I have no idea what to make. I thought about some quick burritos, but the stove is not clean enough to heat the tortillas on the open burner. I either have to clean the stove or make something else... So much for quick.

Microwave works just fine for warming tortillas.

We nuke them for about 20 ish seconds, just enough to make them pliable. then fill with "hot" fillings, fold and re heat if needed to warm meat, melt cheese, etc. Add any "cold" toppings and you're good to go.

or, with basically the same ingredients (depending on what you use in your burritos) you could make nachos, taco salad, chips and a taco dip, a Mexican type casserole, etc.

I went Asian with the chicken thighs. Rice and broccoli.

If I have access to a vehicle tomorrow it will be lasagna. If not.....???

Tortillas in the microwave? I am putting my fingers in my ears & saying "lalalalalalala!" so that I cant hear such blasphemy.

I went with stuffed bell peppers tonight. That's really weird for me. I've only made those maybe twice in the last 2 decades or so, but DH brought home a Costco sized bag full & I didn't want to loose them. They weren't bad, but probably wont make it into my regular rotation.

I too think its funny that a lot of Mexican food is mostly the same ingredients. Maybe that's why its my favorite... ingredients are delicious & usually on hand here.

I'm not a stuffed pepper person, either. I notice sourland makes them a lot. I do find it interesting to see the differences in what folks fix. Not sure how much is regional, etc.

Tonight will be lasagna, salad and garlic bread.
