Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

I love fresh pork steaks.

Tonight was 'Half Price Pasta', and tomorrow night is my daughter's B'day - we'll be going out.

-fresh spinach and spring mix salad with cranberries, walnuts, goat cheese, diced apples, and raspberry vinaigrette dressing. -rosemary bread. -pineapple boat filled with sliced kiwi, banana, cubed pineapple, orange slices, blueberries, and blackberries for dessert.

mmm My kind of dinner! My husband and son are carnivores with sides of meat.
They get annoyed when I slip in nutrition sans animal fat.

I understand completely! Once I cooked a feast of mashed potatoes, green beans, okra, glazed carrots, and mac-n-cheese from scratch. My husband, son, and daughter looked at the table, looked at me, and asked simultaneously, "where's the meat"? I explained that the mac-n-CHEESE was the meat. They were perplexed. Oh well. I do cook old-fashioned meals centered around meat for the crew, but attempt to season with herbs rather than butter, salt, and bacon all the time. (and I do spare them the funky juices I so love. -hubby references one of my favorites [broccoli, spinach, apple, mango, kiwi, blue green algae, barley grass, wheat grass, and green tea mixture] as "motor oil" because it's a dark green/brown color and very thick.

Tonight--chicken stir fry with cabbage, onion, shrooms, bean sprouts, carrots, peppers, whatever else is in the crispers. And fried rice. I cooked and dehydrated some rice last month and am eager to see how it re-cooks.
