Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Wow! Some yummy meals in the making (or eaten by now!)

The kids are still working on projects. I kept it simple for dinner -

Salmon patties
Seasoned white and wild rice (ya know, from San Francisco

)
Mixed steamed veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, and baby carrots)

Both AM and BYB meals sound good! I hope everything is "sunny" today AM.

I made hamburger stroganaff last night. Today is tacos. Plain and simple, I know. I am just not feeling all that great today, started coming down with something last night. Plus I get to spend this afternoon in town.

I have a gal in town who purchases 3 dozen eggs about every week and a half. She just e-mails me when she is getting low and I e-mail her when I will be in town next. Then she leaves the $ and cartons on her porch and I put the eggs in the same spot! This has been going on a while. Finally just after Christmas I heard them home so I knocked and got to meet both of them and their darling daughter! Very nice people, and they love my eggs!!

Sounds like a wonderful meeting chickenchick! Aint it funny how people get friendly over chickens and thier makings. lol
Tonight is boiled cabbage, boiled taters with some sausage thrown in. lol

Thank you for the concern, ladies

I think he must've found his Midol for Men cuz today is definitely more "sunny"

There's lasagna on the horizon... but I really want some more of my Corn Chowder version.. a yellow yam sub'd for one of the taters and a handful of whole kernel corn.... and I want to add some of the smoked salmon I splurged on yesterday.

skand.. I think you mentioned adding scallops to yours before ..what about salmon?

What do y'all think... yey or nay?

You all are making some wonderful stuff tonight.

Tonights dinner is all about carbs... It's more of what I want vs what I should make....

We are having homemade white bread (baking right now) Creamy chicken and noodles. (homemade spinach noodles). I make noodles all the time but I've never made a chicken and noodles dish with all the same veggies as chicken soup, but it will have a thicker base with lots of herbs and garlic, carrots, celery..the works....I just hope it "works" lol

That sounds good, Redfeathers

My DH and I have this list ..kind of a "Gift List" for the year... and I have a Pasta Machine (a juicer and a dehydrator) on my side!

Yum! Certainly some delicious dinners on the menu for tonight!

Glad to have you with us, chick2good4u! Do you make your own Posole? If so, we had a discussion on the original thread about Posole and Menudo (both of which I love). Aneesa's Muse needs to find a pork free recipe so if you have one, please share.

Salmon Corn Chowder sounds great. Hope you guys make it and share the recipe! I'm glad things are going better, Aneesa.

This blast of Arctic air has me in denial, so tonight is summertime in my house.

hotdogs
hamburgers
potato salad
baked beans
brownies
icecream

I had to laugh about that happyhen! I'm doing the exact opposite here. I'm making "comfort food" and it's 87 degrees right now. Yes, it's freakin' 87 degrees in JANUARY! So I guess we're both in denial.

I had to keep it simple again tonight since I'm still running around like a crazy lady. I'm making ground beef goulash (not the paprika version, but rather the old fashioned comfort food that they served in cafeterias when we were kids), rosemary French bread, and green salad. The goulash is in the crockpot so that I can serve it up the minute we walk in the door.
