Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Before I got diagnosed, I was drinking raw milk

. Yep, from a Jersey/Dexter cross, with a nice thick layer of cream on top. It was amazing. And it had to go, of course. Raw milk, too risky for my immune system. I basically refused to drink milk for about a year, then missed cereal and went with store bought whole milk. I agree, the fat content really isn't enough to make much difference, unless you're downing multiple glasses a day. I only have milk a few times a week if that, or a nice big glass when I bake cookies or brownies. Gotta have milk with those!

Then again, when we're out of milk and I really want cereal, I've been known to dilute heavy cream with a little water and use that

Tonight is a half turkey breast slathered with chopped herbs, garlic, and olive oil (kind of like a chimichurri) on the Traeger grill with roasted yams and a medley of odds and end veggies (haricot verts, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower). And I made a really simple chocolate cake with chocolate frosting.

Bologna, lettuce and tomato sandwiches and canned tomato soup. Blooie, you've been chopped. <sigh>

Blooie, I'll see your bologna and raise you take and bake pizza. Spent the day helping a friend drop and chop trees and I'm exhausted. No cooking for me tonight.

Uh hunh. I called to place my order, then gave Big Boy my debit card and sent him on his merry way to bring me food

. Pretty much opted out of the entire cooking thing last night.

Today I'm not cooking anything! As soon as Ken is ready to go, he's taking me to Billings for a nice anniversary dinner. Tomorrow is our actual anniversary, but since I have Kendra (Yayyy) tomorrow, she doesn't get picked up until 1:30, and it's almost 2 hours to go to Billings, it just made sense to go today when we have more time to spend. Besides, for 3 of the other years this is the day we'd normally celebrate our anniversary anyway. And for today, heart diet is out the window. I'm getting sea food, and it won't be a carefully proportioned helping of healthy stuff either! So there, Dr. Knopf!!

Happy anniversary. Have a great dinner.
