We went to visit mom's today. My mom is doing sooo much better now. She is on oxygen at home, not coughing and not gasping for breathe
DMIL went with DH, me and DGK's to red robins for a late lunch(3pm), so on the way home we stopped at the store and got a FROZEN apple cinnamon strudel deep dish pie! Sounds GOOD, but I much prefer fresh desserts. So that is what we are having for dinner(supper), tonight.
Tomorrow, if it is as nice as today, it will be bbq hot dogs; running out of food here and DH doesn't have much work so I don't know when we will be able to go grocery shopping.
thechickenchick - sorry it's so hard for you to shake that infection. Maybe it's true that the third time is the charm (third round of antibiotics)?
Aneesa - sorry about your chica.
How is your hand doing?
We went from 55 to 35 degrees this afternoon with an icy rain, so I made English comfort food. A Lancashire hot pot (lamb stew). I made the stock from neck bones, and picked the first mint leaves from the herb garden for minted baby peas. A loaf of potato bread and a strawberry "fool" (cooked and pureed strawberries folded into sweetened whipped cream). rounded out the meal.
My great grandmother was verrry English and this was a favorite meal of mine. Unfortunately my ingredients were purchased whereas all of her's were harvested on the farm, including the lamb and cream. What a taste difference!
