Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

You are truly a strong woman and leave me speechless in awe for your abillity to cope with so much at once. I hope things quickly work out for you. My prayers are with you.

I love boxed wines ... it's the future of the wine industry. With stricter laws for DUI, people are understandably reluctant to buy a bottle of wine with dinner at a restaurant. Boxed wines keep well and still make it possible to have a glass of wine with dinner and drive home safely. Win/win. Although we do have a new law where restaurants can re-cork the bottle, but it's pricy for the restaurant, which is passed on to the diner.

[bAneesa][/b] - Thanks for editing the joke about Hot Cross Buns. My verrry English great-Grandmother would have had to tan your hide for any jokes like that.

It was TRADITION!

Spaghetti in marinara with a tossed green salad for this last day of fasting.

Happy Easter to all those who celebrate!

We ended up having some friends out for a BBQ. After we ate we all decorated Easter Eggs! It was a blast. My DS thought it was pretty cool that 4 adults were helping him decorate 5 dozen eggs! We had glitter, glue, stickers and paint everywhere!!

Easter dinner at SILs today. Not sure what we are eating. Should be good though!!

Happy Easter everyone!!!!!

PS I am thinking waffles for breakfast!

Happy Easter to you too thechickenchick!

We are having the typical Easter dinner, Black Forest ham, scalloped potatoes, deviled eggs, sliced melon and pineapple, rolls of some sort.

I hope you all enjoy your day with friends and family.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate! And yes, to those of us with a liturgical background - Alleluia!!

I'm just about to make breakfast - scrambled eggs, sausage, and some kind of breakfast bread hubby brought home from the grocery store. It looks like it has cinnamon on it, which I

Dinner will be ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and rolls. Dessert will be pound cake and strawberries with ice cream and/or whipped cream.

FIL dropped off a huge ham on friday. So we are having ham for dinner. There is usually only two of us. I'm scrambling to invite some people to join us, most of the people I know, don't eat ham though. I guess we'll be eating ham all week.
Stepson just got home, so I guess he's joining us. SO is making him peel the potatoes. I opened up a jar of sweet and sour cabbage and pickled green beans. The guys insist on having canned corn too.
I'm starving!!

I hope every one had a wonder Easter/Sunday! We had ham, mashed potatoes with ham gravy, corn and fresh bread. It was fun to get together with family.

Turns out my SILs new house is just a few blocks from my Aunt. (The one that the Cabin stew recipe came from! (page 119) So we dropped in on her and my Uncle. They were tickled to see us and we had a great visit.

I have no ideas for dinner yet. DS is still in bed and DH is at work. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. Its going to be a grand day!!

Hope everyone had a nice sunday celebrating whatever you do.

We had ham, scalloped potatoes, wild rice and maple oatmeal bread, choc. pudding pie with whipped cream for dessert.

I found out late sat. afternoon that my Mom went back into ICU on Fri. She was at the drs. on thur. and they said she was fine, she woke up fri. morning with pnemonia!!!She only had one working lung now because of lung cancer treatment. So they put her on a reperator and sedated her. DSF called me yesterday and told me that the medication is working and they hope each day will be better. My dear sister and I aren't going to go see her until she is awake.

We had invited DH's neice over for Easter dinner. When she arrived we introduced the dogs she hadn't met yet. Our female comes to see her, DH told her the pregnant one is Katie. She looked at her and said 'she looks like she's ready to POP!

While we were visiting I sent DGD out to check on katie, thinking that we should bring her inside NOW, as she mainly stayed laying in her house all day yesterday. DGD called to us about the same time as katie yelpped! I run out and she has a puppy half hangin out, not knowing what to do! We got them inside and DH and I tag-teamed nine puppies into the world!

We thought that it was sooo cool that she had them on Easter. It took her 4 hrs. so dinner was a bit later than we had planned. I will post pics later on.

We know nothing about puppies, so this will be a learning experience for us all. Any advice?? I made her leave her puppies for a short last night so DGD and I could clean her up a bit. We'll bring proud daddy in to see everyone this morning. He sat and watched for most of the births. so needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night.

I have no idea what's for supper tonight, I'll figure that out later.

Wow Monica what an eventful day!!

I'm sorry about your mom being ill. I hope she has a full recovery quickly. I had to see my mom on a respirator once and it was very difficult. I hope she is off of it in no time at all.

Congratulations on the new puppies! That is a nice sized litter. I'm glad everything went OK and you were able to deliver them without vet help on an Easter Sunday...that would have been difficult. I can't wait to see pictures.

I'm not sure what is for dinner tonight. I have a few options and no gumption to make any of them.

You DID have an eventful Easter, cknmom!!! Wow!

I'm glad to hear that your mom is responding to the medication hope she is better soon!

So as to take a break from what we'll be eating the rest of the week (ham, need you ask?) we're having a simple dinner of Chicago Dogs. It's DD's last day of Spring Break and DS's first day. I can't believe they overlapped by only one day!

What creative ideas do you all have to use your ham this week?
