Hope everyone is doing fine, zoo, so you're still on soft food?? Isn't icecream soft food, how about donuts??
I have not been doing much but going through mom's things and trying to figure out how to get through each day without her. I have her cut out recipes(I'm picking up her cookbooks this weekend) I am going to make cookbooks for the family with her favorite recipes. My wonderful husband came up with a great solution to a dilemma I was having. Mom was a planner, she planned things down to what serving dish and utensils to use. So I will put a section in the book with her menus and party plans, ideas, and notes. She also had tons of recipes that she hadn't tried yet, so I will put in a section of Mom's Future Recipes. I have tried a couple of those so far. I have made ham and cheese pannini's with my olive foccia bread, fettucinni with ham and veggies, and refireid beans that I messed up (according to everyone else, I LOVE them !), I accidentally grabbed the jar of cayanne instead of the chili powder, I wondered why it was so light in color. When I went to grab the cayanne, and ggot hold of the chili powder instead I realized what I had done. I LOVE spicy things, so they are fine for me.
I found my grandmother's recipe for her famous chiffon cake!! I will make that tomorrow, I think. Last night was meatballs and penne, tonight is pigs-n- blankets, and corn. I can't do much more than that today.
