Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Only if you like a burger from ingredients that are never frozen, a thick slice of onion, tomato, and lettuce on your burger at a price less than what you'd get from one of those prefab burger places.

mmmmmm

I don't eat typical "fast food", so I might like it

You might. And, if you try one, let me know what you think. Although you can get what's called a "double double" for me the standard cheeseburger is more than enough. Only the boys in this house eat the double/doubles. Don't get me wrong - it IS fast food, but it just doesn't taste like it.

Here's a pretty honest review:

If you scroll down, you can read the comments. As usual, everyone has a favorite, usually local, place. But, for a chain store, this one is pretty darn good. They also pay their employees well, which is another plus for me as far as giving them my business.

As for dinner - hubby is grilling some steaks for my Mother's Day dinner along with some sauteed mushrooms, white/wild rice, and a salad. Smells good - Can't wait!

LOL BB - We had steak and portabellas last night while DD was home ... it's finals week so she had to go back to college last night after she cooked dinner for us (she planned the menu and did the shopping).

My two guys (DH and DS) spent the weekend doing as many of my chores (coop cleaning, compost turning, weeding the veg garden, laundry and housework) as possible while treating me to a breakfast of eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast this morning.

Ha! That's funny that you had the same dinner.

The intention here was to have everyone do the chores around here but while we got some of it, we were waaaaaay too busy so I didn't get my usual reprieve on the weekend chores. It won't happen tomorrow, either. Both of my kids are attending a Disneyland music workshop tomorrow so we'll be running around D-land all day tomorrow. Should be fun!

Sounds like a nice Mother's Day, Happyhen! Happy Mother's Day to you and to all of our Mama Chefs.

You folks talkin' 'bout In and Out Burger ???? YUMM

I made the wife two of her favorite foods: fresh Caesar's Salad (with home made croutons and dressing) and perciatelli pasta (a FAT spagetti with a whole running thru it) in a quick sauce with onions, crushed tomatoes, garlic oil, finely chopped anchovies and diced black olives... REAL GOOD... We hadn't had Caesar's Salad since before Christmas so it was especially delicious to us both. And for dessert the last slice of banana cream pie !! (baked Wednesday).

That bread recipe is wonderful! I made a batch this morning. I alter it once in a while just to mix things up. Sometimes its Jalapeno bread, today is Dill Pickle Bread! I know it sounds odd but my husband could live on Dill pickles if I would let him!! It turned out great! Oh and I won't tell your Mom!!

DH cooked a Prime Rib yesterday for Mothers day so today I am making homemade noodles with PR. I will chop up the remaining meat, mix it with the left over broth, add garlic and onion, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil and drop in hm egg noodles. Oh, now I am starving!!

I hope everyone here on my favorite thread had a great Mothers Day.

We have leftovers still, so I'm just going to bake some macaroni 'n cheese and steam a veggie to help round it all out

Backyard Buddies... I won't be able to try the burgers at In 'n Out. The meat is not slaughtered correctly ..however fresh and all that.

I have a roast in the frige since yesterday but it didnt thaw out so I had a pound of venison burger (one of my last packages) and so I ended up with a cross between chilli and spaghetti . Made it with rotini, chunky tomato, onion and garlic spaghetti sauce, corn, red beans and spices. It was actually pretty good. Im famous around here for that
