Removing the paddle is an option, though there’s a hole on the centre of the pan (where the paddle fits). Apparently the 2020 models don’t have the same design flaw :hmm

My MIL will swear that food deep fried in lard is healthy for you.
I'm not joking. :he Love her though.
 
It is very hard to change my beliefs on lard too!

Lard makes the best pie crust! Also proper tamales.

So much of what's supposed to be good or bad for you is influenced by old bad science and/or food industry lobbyist I've always just stuck with the philosophy of "the closer to nature it is the better" and "a little bit of anything is probably ok and a lot of anything probably isn't".

For dinner tonight we're going to have the chili my husband made and simmered for most of yesterday. It has linguica, ground beef, chopped steak, bacon, hot and sweet peppers, onions, roasted tomatoes, pinto beans, and corn.
 
I agree that it is better but grew up on red or white meat never was sick till I had to leave that
within 6 years I had cancer then Graves took my vision years after we beat the cancer
