Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

Did not know there was another way to make gravy always most often corn starch.. but biscuits and gravy are are flour all the way ..
Did 50 x 50 burgers, dijon potato and brussle sprouts both in the oven
I make my gravy with flour usually. I cook it into a roux with melted fat from the meat or butter and then add the drippings and a bit of water as needed. I only pull out the corn starch if I fail to use enough flour in the roux to thicken the gravy properly. Corn starch dissolves and didnt clump as bad when added to the gravy. Another option is ladle some of the gravy into a bowl and whisk in the extra flour and then pur it back into the pot through a sieve.

Last night was bourbon street chicken and shrimp, mashed potatoes, mozzarella sticks, 4 cheese mac and cheese - yes, we got take out from Applebees - Manager brought it out to the car - they have let all of their staff go - only he and the cooks are working.

Tonight I will make pan fried rosemary/balsamic breaded chicken breasts, left over scalloped potatoes, summer squash and broccoli.

Last night was cajun/caribbean take out. They gave us a roll of TP in the bag, since there's been a shortage of that around here. :lau
I had frog legs. DW had a gator po' boy. DS had gator nuggets. We also had a side of fried pickles - they put spears on a stick and batter like a corn dog. The food was delicious and all I had to do was call and drive 5 minutes.
