Hey Grandpa, What's for Supper? Part 2

It should be fun!
It was! The kids stayed outside roasting hotdogs & marshmallows and playing UNO forever. They were so grateful to see each other again that there wasn't a single complaint ... but then, they had a huge fire to keep them warm and entertained. They were really smart about it. All four agreed to self-quarantine for at least a few days to make sure they weren't showing any symptoms. Smart kids! So, all went well ... now we just wait and hope it went safely, too!
 
Trying to make a Manwich tonight tranditionly the canned form I hate .. it has brown sugar maybe more in canned variety never been a sugar person.. making it with 1 pound of burger 1 of pulled beef:confused:
  • 1 ½ pounds extra lean ground beef
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper to taste
 
This is a German cookie I grew up with
To make the pfeffernuse light or Dark
1/2 C shortening
3/4 C Brown sugar (packed)
3 Eggs
1/2 C molasses (for light omit)
3 drop Anise (buy in a pharmacy old) Now use Amazon...
1/4 cup Hot water
3 1/2 C flour (more if needed)
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp Cloves (I use more, Grandmas had a bite)

Oven moderate 350..
Mix wet ingredients then add dry. If dough seams soft refrigerate Roll into 3/4 inch balls ..
Bake 8 to 10 minutes .. This was a favorite Geerman cookie in our house
