The only recipes I can find when I google are, Rinones Al Jerez ..and Rinones al Vino Blanco ..or the "sherry" one....

So.. I called the restaurant that I haven't visited in years, and I asked if the kidney entree is still on their menu ..and it is... but it's simply called, "Rinones"

I asked about the basic ingredients and they are the same that I have mimicked in my own recipe for years and years.

It makes me feel so stupid when there's something like this stumping me ..and then it finally turns out to be so simple. LOL

...but it's still too simple for Google

Can you even remember life before Google? lol I'd be lost without it now..I'd have to go to a public library and actually look things up in an encyclopedia..wow..how did we survive?

Tonight we are having breakfast burritos with bacon, eggs and hash browns.

A casserole with the last of the ham, haven't decided between two recipes. Had chicken breasts with pot. and carrots witha shroom soup gravy in the crockpot last night.

I'm going to be changing the dinners in a couple of weeks as our other grandchildren will FINALLY be coming to stay with us while DD is back in Afghanistan(she had to come back for a few months to take care of custody with her ex and get a divorce from her current). They will be coming probably next weekend. She says they are good eaters and will eat most anything, but we eat a lot of spicy things much to DGD's dismay. BUt as you all know just increasing certain recipes by 1-2 servings can increase the cost substantially. So I think a lot of my regular type of meals will have to go by the wayside until they leave, and we will be eating a lot of mac-n-cheese and hot dogs, hamburger dishes.

debra-Hope you feel better, I finally feel better after two weeks!

We don't use google anymore as we don't agree with their business practices and who they donate money to. We use goodsearch, everytime you search with them they donate to whatever charity(or non-profit) you designate. DH and I donate to NRA, DGD donates to and animal organization. They have a list to pick from or you can type in and organization.

Aneesa's Muse - That's funny that it turned out to be so simple. I'm glad you figured it out. Care to share the recipe?

Debiraymond - I hope you feel better soon!

Monica - Bean dishes are always economical and feed a crowd. Don't forget spaghetti. You'll be busy, so some one-pot meals may be a good addition.

Tonight we're having roasted salmon with garlic and olive oil, salad, peas, and organic quinoa with carrots.

What on earth is Venzun?

My Grandmother, being a full blood Indian always called venison, Venzun because of her broken speach.....sorry for any confusion.

I hope you feel better soon. Sounds like a hot tea and jello night! Thats what my Mom always fed me when I was sick as a kid.

We are having spaghetti and homemade french bread, oh and salad too!

BB- Actually I am soo happy because all of the other kids like beans, now DH and DGD don't, so I only fix them for me for lunches.
So now I can fix them for dinner and have another side for DH and oldest DGD.

Decided that tonight will be Gougere:
1C. milk
4T.butter
1/2t.salt
1/2t.pepper
pinch nutmeg
3/4+2T.flour
4 eggs, room temp
4oz.parm cheese, room temp
1C.ham, chopped
1egg, beaten with 1t.water
2T.parm. cheese
Grease 9" piepan. Put milk, butter, salt, pepper and nutmeg in lg. heavy pan. Cook over med. heat, stir often until butter has melted and boils. Remove from heat, add flour all at once, stir with wooden spoon. Return to heat, stir vigorously and constantly for 2-3min. until it comes away from side of pan. Remove from heat. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time into hot dough, stir vigorously after each egg until fully mixed and dough is smooth. Beat in parmesan cheese. Fold in ham. Put dough in piepan. Brush with egg-water mixture, sprinkle with parm.Bake 50min. at 375* DON"T OPEN OVEN DOOR! Gougere should be quite brown and puffy. While still in oven, make a few slits in top with sharp knife. Bake 10min. more. Serve hot, room temp or cold. 4-6 servings

I am going to make pumpkin soup to go with it. It is supposed to be cold and rainy tonight.

Too many stresses here for a Monday, so I relaxed by making pumpkin ravioli in a toasted walnut-herbed cream sauce, a spinach salad with red onions, black olives and orange segments drizzled with an orange citronette, crusty Italian Semolina bread and a white chocolate chunk- hazlenut biscotti.

DH thinks I need more stress since he likes the way I relax!
