Not sure yet what is on the menu for tonight. Our son is staying in town for the Halloween dance, then spending the night at Grandmas. So it will just be hubby and I. However he won't be home until after 9pm.

By then I don't feel like cooking. I wish I had bought the ingredients for hot artichoke dip or something fun.

Oh well!

I took out ground beef so I could make meatloaf, spaghetti or cabbage rolls ..I love cabbage rolls! ...but then one of my rescued "kids" started seizing and I just lost her in my hands ...she was so tiny..

...and DH is a keeper, as he called me from a local eatery with some of his friends.. wondering if I wanted something. Cheeseburgers and chicken tenders..

When the tears stop.. I may need Banana Cream Pie, too

Be safe tonight, everyone!

quercus - to re-fry fried (leftovers) I heat in the microwave until warm and then fry until hot and crispy again. A last minute sprinkle of seasoning and ...voila!

. I'm sorry for your loss and the heartache it brings. Forget dinner and go straight for the pie! BTW, did you get my pm?

the1much - How do you fix rattler? I can skin, gut and clean it, but do you grill it or does it need slow cooked and sauced? What's it taste like (and don't tell me chicken!)

I cooked for the "kids" tonight, taco salad and flan. DD, DS and his SO are all here tonight and LOVE taco salad.......good thing I like flan!

I throw my left overs in a cast iron pan (going to take a lot of abuse). Fry the meat in a little bit of oil until some of it is crispy and the meat is falling apart, like pull pork. You'll end up with like a thick layer of chicken/oil on the bottom of the pan (needs to be scraped). When you think you are close to being done, toss in your spices, onions, mushrooms etc. You might have to add more oil or butter as you cook. After they cooked down a bit, to the way you like them, mix in 1 – 2 TBS of flour and stir till it thickens. After the mixer sort of starts bubbling, but not burning, add water, stirring as you add the water. When the gravy starts bubbling turn the heat down and add mixed veggies. I'll put this over rice, bread, potatoes or pasta.

I cant wait to hear how it turns out!!!!! That was one huge scary snake  I have had a hankering to try rattler since I was a kid. Not sure why... Well, give us all the dirty details, kay?

Today we are having homemade pizza, homemade egg rolls and pumpkin cake for my DS's 9th birthday

Snake is actually pretty good, if it's prepared correctly.
But please don't repeat this to any of my "kids" ...LOL

I think the ground beef from yesterday is going to surely become meatballs AND stuffed cabbage rolls, today. I'm feeling frisky

...that, and the rain is preventing any outside activities

Well, I'm chopping up some leftover roast and will simmer it in some BBQ sauce for sandwiches. We'll have a cabbage/apple/carrot slaw on the side. Dessert is soft molasses cookies crumbled over cheesecake filling. Think I'll start it now!
