I am feeling better today(so far), thank you for all your well wishes. I hope everyone else gets better soon also.

Purr- what a co-inkidink! DGD made a recipe from her cookbook for dinner last night, Cheesy roast beast sandwhiches! We changed things a little though- I made my wonderful hoagie rolls, cut up leftover roast into bite-sized pieces, heated them in beef broth. Heated sliced shrooms in beef broth. topped them with provolone cheese slices. Chips on the side. they were very good!

Tonight I will slice up leftover bbq tri-tip and make enchiladas with it, refried beans, all the fixins' and homemade ice cream, choc.oreo cookie and vanilla for me. Watermelon for a snack today. At 7am-76*,7:30-81*-expecting thunderstorms today. As long as they don't start any fires we will be fiine.

Sport peppers are a medium hot pepper, similar to a tabasco pepper, but a bit bigger and usually pickled green. They sell the seeds for them at the Tomato Growers website:
http://www.tomatogrowers.com/hot5.htm

But, if you Google it, you can find several places who sell them in the jars. While most sites mention their use in Chicago Dogs, there were a few references that another name for them is the Mississippi Sport and that Southerners sometimes top their greens with them. Since we have several Southerners on this thread, perhaps they can clarify.

Thank you i think i'll have to grow some of those !

cknmom,
so glad your feeling better and those hoagie's sound yummy , my mouth is watering.

We are just having beans and hot dogs cause DH and I are exhausted after painting the dining room and mowing the lawn and tons of other stuff.

!

I'm going to make some fruit leather/roll-ups tomorrow as well....... some treats for the kids.
I have apple sauce for that, and blueberry sauce and mango peach.... I wonder how that apple butter would fare being a fruit leather ? ? ?

I have no idea about that but I'm sure someone must have some experience with making the fruit leathers/roll-ups? Lucky kids at your house tomorrow!!

Anyone tried Mucinex? The coughing is killing me.. and oh boy! talk about fun when the migraine has joined in too..

I hope everyone is all better very, very soon!!

Mucinex worked for me.
But I do feel sorry for everyone out there with this bug. I had my sinus infection over a month ago and it is still not gone completely. After 3 rounds of anitbiotics.

And I agree - Post those recipes PLEASE.

Our dr. told us to get mucinex dm as it will loosen the junk in the lungs, and theraflu. Those seemed to make it tolerable to wait out the bug.

I no longer have a dehyderator, I must get one.
I have recipes for fruit leather but have not tried them. We are having leftover hoagies for dinner.
