beef stroganoff tonight, seltzer or apple cider to drink. Toss up between pancakes and bacon or marinated chicken legs, corn, and rice or butternut squash. What kind of pancakes, blue berry, strawberry, raspberry or peach?

Brahampooter - Don't you love it when they are home? Ours are tag teaming us this year. The little one this week and the big one will be here next week.

DD is home from college this weekend, after some tough midterms (grad school, double major), so it was a family feast.

The weather was perfect today, dinner was al fresco with the sounds of happy chickens in the background.

Grilled antipasto salad.
Spaghetti aglio e olio.
Grilled chicken breasts stuffed with minced portabellas, garlic, breadcrumbs and Parmesan, accompanied by steamed garden green beans,wax beans and baby carrots.
A tossed green salad with aged balsamic and evoo.
Lots (2 loaves!) of crusty, homebaked olive oil bread.
Cheese plate (Gorgonzola, fresh Mozzarella and Asiago) with fresh pears,apples and grapes.
Coffee granita for dessert.

Several flights of wine (adult "kids"!) accompanied the courses that took about 3 hours to consume.

Lots of conversation and laughter. Clean up was a family affair (I just supervised) with even more laughter (blame it on the wine)!

Tonight was Tandoori on my personal menu, but DH decided to perservere and find the new Thai place that we went searching for last weekend ..to no avail... so we found it with my navigation skills. (Men and directions, y'know

) It was okay food ..I can make better

He had Drunken Noodles ..sooooo spicy.. and I had Guay Tiew Gai (big flat noodles, chicken, peanuts, supposed to be sprouts ..but none there... big chunky bed of lettuce instead).

I always order drunken noodles with chicken and extra basil. It's my FAVORITE Thai food.

We had Chicken and Fettuccini with marinara that I made from the garden veggies.

Tonight is chicken soup with homemade noodles and biscuits.​

Wow Redfeather's and cknmom! I haven't even figured out what I'm having for breakfast and you guys already have dinner planned. I'm impressed! That said, I suspect dinner will be leftovers of some sort. I love cleaning out the fridge on Sunday.

Redfeathers.. I think last night was my DH's first and last time getting Drunken Noodles (from that place, anyway).

He complained of upset tummy most of the night ..hence I did not sleep much, if any..

...and dinner will be "mild" this evening

It was Jambalaya on the fridge menu.. now it's smothered chicken with my special lime infused brown mushroom gravy, mashed taters and steamed broccoli

Okay Foodies..

What is this?

A fruit of sorts.. color is off in pic... smells like grated carrots, kind of custard'y textured flesh, but very slight pith to it, too. It isn't really sweet. It's the size of a oblong softball or small'ish cantaloupe.

The brown pebbled skin is darker brown than the pic shows ..and the flesh is not as "yellow orange" as it is more "coral/pink'ish orange".

I got it for my reptile gang ..the veg/fruit heads... but forgot to ask the produce guy what it is

Help?

Marinated chicken legs, bow ties and cheese, corn and apple sauce. The little rat is out with her friends, nice quiet meal.

Does anyone knows what it is like to sit down to a meal with a RN and a RN to be?
