Its a cold rainy day here, so I think I am either going to whip up some sort of stew or bake up some foccacia and make pasta with pesto and a tomato salad on the side. Hmmm, I am leaning toward the pasta idea...

Well, I'm gonna have some pizza dang it! I aint had that in a long time, so I'm gonna head to town, pick up a thick crust alfredo with artichokes and black olives, then head back and watch the OU game (pac10 refs... Oh Lord, I'm already stressed!)

We are going to a fireworks display and bringing an eccentric little picnic I threw together with what I had on hand:
Crab and cucumber salad with rice wine vinegar/ soy sauce dressing
fresh avocado
home grown tomatoes
smoked gouda and rice crackers
Izze clementine sodas
homemade chocolate chip cookies

Fresh tomato-basil soup (too many tomatoes this year!) with grilled Asiago cheese bread, a tossed green salad and bread pudding for dessert.

Like Chicky Joy I wanted the oven on today to take that damp chill from the house and hot soup to take the chill from our bones, especially after doing the Breast Cancer Awareness walk in the rain this morning.

We went to a cook-out put on by my aunt and uncle. I'm not talking about a hamburger and hotdog cook-out either. We had smoked deer chops, smoked deer roast, smoked pork loin, smoked ribs, BBQ chicken & BBQ ribs. The fried potatoes were cooked outside in a huge cast iron skillet with bacon cuts and onions. We also had green beans, baked beans, okra, potato salad and about 20 different desserts.

I ate waaaaaaay too much!!!

Well, we're on vacation. After checking into our hotel we wandered down to Pike Place Market (Seattle) and found our dinner there. Delicious dungeness crab cake rolls and fries with garlic aioli. Dessert was a giant ginger cookie as big as my husband's hand. We had to split it! We board our cruise ship tomorrow! Woohoo!

Last night was the awards banquet and I had macaroni salad, dirty rice green beans, mashed potatoes ,the best prime rib I've ever had (literally melted in my mouth) and chocolate raspberry cheesecake for desert.
