Hey I'm choosing which kind of chick to get Edit:(narrowed down to 4!)

I love my wynadottes, true they won't take being bossed by the emu's, but are in with a lot of other breeds and all get along fine. My favorite still follows me around, her names Chicklet, my avatar. I like my SS too, she's very friendly. BOrp although not fancy, are gental and friendly. My friend had some ColWyd, very pretty birds.

to get red stars or golden comets or cinnamum queen red sexlink or about a trillion other names, they use a RIR roo and a hen with the silver gene, could be out of a white rock or a rhodeisland white or a couple others that I cant think of right now
the black sexlink aka black star, black rock and a few other names is a RIR roo crossed with a plymouth barred rock hen
either are good layers
just dont get confussed with all the names

Blue Laced Red Wynadotte: Never had one, pretty birds though I haven't had good luck with the wyandotte personalities

Golden Sebright: Again, never had one though they aren't great layers from what I understand and a friend who had a rooster said it was absolutely insane

Silver Laced Wynadotte: Had one, hated her. She was super flighty and picked on all my other hens, she did have looks going for her though

Speckled Sussex: Heard lots of good things about them!

Red Star: Had one hen and loved her! Very friendly and layed amazingly well!

Black Star: Never had one??

Columbian Wyandottes: Love the color but again, I haen't had great luck with wyandottes

These are just my two cents, do what you think will work best for you!

Okay guys you all are sooooo helpful and i have thrown out a few already! The Blue Laced Wyandottes are out they just don't have anything except looks going for them! Also much to my regret (because i wantedthese originally) the golden sebrights are also out since my chickens aren't for meat, they gotta have something and these don't lay efficiently, are bantams wich we really don't want, they are basically only pretty!!!! Sigh oh well, And i might get rid of the Stars just couse their names are so confusing!!!!

Our BLRWs are the sweetest most friendly birds we have ever owned, all six of them. They were purchased from a local breeder at day 4, but raised the same as all of our other birds.

Hello. I have Silver Sebrights. They are just like the Golden Sebrights except they are silver with a black lacing. They are nice birds.

Very pretty. They can be a little flighty. Since they are bantams, they lay a small egg, but they lay very good. Mine lay every day.

I would suggest you looking into Light Brahmas, standard. I have 9 of them. They are very pretty, friendly, calm, and they weather the elements great. Im sure that you would love them.

So, I know that Golden Comets are sex links, so I assumed since they are red, they are red sex links- so it sounds like there are just bunch of different names for the red sex links- but they are all pretty much the same?

Lanekim- The last batch of golden comets I got came from a hardware store that ordered them from here:

So far, our red stars are the sweetest, most docile dears. My young children pick them up and carry them around. They come running (of course they know I am bringing treats) and will sit on my lap. They are only 10 weeks or so. I got them for their cold hardiness, gentleness, super egg laying (5 a week) and apparently they are decent meat birds. We think ours are so pretty all red and white.

We also love our EEs and barred rocks as well as our buff orps. But hands down, the red stars win for personality.
