Well, I surely wish I was closer. I'd take the cochins off your hands.

Oh, and be careful with the donkeys. We got a miniature donkey from a friend of my husband's a couple of years ago. He was just as sweet as could be for the first 2 weeks that we had him- then he got me. Came at me full-force, and bit me---hard. It was my fault. I had him penned in the barnyard with my mare for the day, and I guess he was not happy with that, so he took it out on me.

Yeah, I've been around horses a lot and really wish we could have a couple. I think donkeys are a great start for us until we move in a few years to a larger, flatter farm. LOL I will have to teach my daughter all about equines since she's young (7) and wants ponies! She loves donkeys too so its a good start for us.

And, what great pictures! I've got 2 month old, and 1 month old MFCs from Lynne(F2s and F3s). I need to get them all together for a photo shoot. Her birds are just beautiful.

These are some pics of my F2's from Lynne that hatched in Mar. They are filling out very nicely. 3 roos and 2 hens. We originally hatch 10 of 12 but had a cat that decided to make a meal of 5 of them.

So I was looking at one of my mille cochin pullets last night and noticed it looks a LOT like a roo!

that would mean I'd have THREE roosters and ONE hen! This one was the last hatch of the year...

So my three roosters...one is mostly black with white & brown on the chest and some overall mottling.

Another one is bright red with very little white at all....but may add some later?

The last one is an all-over mille fleur coloration but has far too much white...

So which should I keep? I wish I could have two pens going at once and that was my original plan but I'm still waiting on one more shipment of eggs that may not come...so I'm not sure...
