Yes, these are babies from my first eggs from the youngsters, 2 pullets/2 cockerels, Lynne sent me this spring. I have so far used both cockerels with the pullets because the youngest roo, Hidalgo (out of her Hillary, F2), was just getting the hang of being a "guy" and the pullets didn't seem to like him much yet...so Hongo (out of Lynne's Cassanova, F1) is likely the papa of most of these babies.
This mama/pullet has a little more mottling on her breast than the other pullet, who is a little "tidier" but both are light buff. I'm crazy about the pale buff ground color myself, though I know many folks working on MF are aiming for a deeper buff-to-red.
My miracle chicks from Tate (the eggs that were lost in the mail for a WEEK during 90+ heat) are hatching even as we speak!
There are four out so far. One has yellow down, one has silvery gray down, can't tell about the other two yet.
7 out of 12 eggs made it to the hatcher, which was truly a miracle given their long journey. Cross your fingers for the last 3 that haven't popped out yet!
