Not a huge success rate, but I do have 9 more set to hatch Saturday. Some, I suspect weren't fertile. Others were just too damaged in shipping or my error.

I was sick today, so I didn't move them out of the incubator. I gave them a little food and water. It's kind of cold outside anyway. Tomorrow will be better to move them to the brooder in the barn. I got one of each: cuckoo marans, FBCM, and blue copper marans.

SkyWarrior - woohoo on the three hatchlings!!! And one of each different breed - *I* think that's wonderful!

I'm setting 7 BJG eggs from Wynette when I get home from work today. That will be 3 separate incubators running... I am officially not sane.

I SAID I was done for the year.....then how come I have banty and coturnix eggs going to be here soon?

Out of 27 eggs ... I have 17 running around. The other eggs are still in the incubator as it's only day 23. I do think 4 are dead but another day or two. Mine are all mixed. Very happy with this turn around compared to my 0 hatch last time. It was very exciting. Laid on the floor for 9 hours just watching. Even took a nap. Very relaxing.

we just got our eggs shipped today!!!!
were letting them sit so we'll put them under our hen tomorrow
theyre BCMs so we'll have a lot of chocolate color eggs soon

Sounds like everyone did pretty good on their hatches! Hurray!!! I had another bad hatch with three deaths so I am 100% done for the winter and until I can figure out what the heck is going wrong. It is really depressing to have it go so wrong, gets me down.

Skywarrior thanks for the pics, they are so fuzzy. Next time will be better, maybe you will get one of each again and get some breeding pairs.

JulieZ that is pretty good hatchrate! I had a zero hatch once and it broke my heart. Not fun. I love your siggie by the way.

I have some wheaten marans in my brooder, I can't wait to see how dark their eggs are. I have some Welsummers and they are nice and dark. Geez, I can't wait for winter to get here! I must have a pretty severe chicken addiction to even say that.
