HHD automatic incubator, HELP!!!

Gauze? How?
Well I guess I should have asked you a few questions first...like if the problems was the eggs falling out the turner. Sorry.

They had suggested to just put gauze under the egg to keep it in the turner.

When the egg turner turns the eggs either slowly roll around the inside of the cup it is sitting in or it quickly falls to the other side and either way they don’t turn to the other side properly and have the possibility of cracking also if I want it to turn I have to press the reset button as it won’t do it automatically

I have a Hovabator Genesis with an automatic egg turner. My egg turner turns continuously, but it moves very slowly. I know it's working when I mark where the eggs are and come back later and the eggs are in a different position. It's a removable unit, all on it's own. I am currently incubating 15 eggs and they are in lock down, so the turner has been removed. I know my incubator is a degree or two hotter than the temperature reading because my chicks are hatching NOW on day 19! 7 of 15 have pipped and 2 are unzipping as I type. An adjustment downward of a degree before I set my next batch to incubate, and i would expect hatching on day 20 or 21.

The best thing I can suggest that you do is to get an instruction manual for your egg turner and your incubator. There should be step by step instructions for adjusting temperature and what to do if you have a malfunctioning unit. You do need an independent thermometer and hygrometer to measure heat and humidity. That way, you have something to compare your incubator's readings to. The independent units are assumed to have the correct readings, not your incubator readings. Google it first, then call the manufacturer and ask for an instruction manual. Or, return everything and get something similar that has everything you need with it, including instruction manuals. Mine is pretty much a prepare, set and go incubator. All I've had to do is add water occasionally and remove the turner on day 18 to put the eggs into lock down. Good luck with everything!

Hello,

I purchased an HHD incubator and just hatched out my first batch of baby chicks. The 2 fans in the incubator are covered with white plastic slats. It is best practice to keep chicks in the incubator until they are dry before moving them to the brooder. 2 of my baby chicks put their beaks easily into the fan (the slats are way too far apart to keep the little babies safe). THE FANS CHOPPED THE ENDS OF THEIR BEAKS OFF!!!!! The little injured chicks bled all over the incubator and I had to remove all the chicks right after they were born and blow their little wet bodies dry by hand with a hair dryer, as the humidity was far too high.
